Measuring Patio Furniture Slings
Over the years we've come to realize that there is a lot of
confusion out there when it comes to slings. We've tried
various options in attempts to make it easier for our customers
to measure their old slings and order new ones. Unfortunately,
there are too many variables that can occur, so trying to put a
standard process in place hasn't really worked.
The biggest problem is in the measuring. Slings that are
still on the chairs are already stretched into place, so they
cannot be measured accurately. Often they are torn, or have
been repaired several times, which makes it even more difficult
to dertermine their original size.
So we finally decided that the best way to give our
customers slings that are close to their intended size is to
have them send a sample one into the factory where they're
made.
Please note
that finished slings can vary in size as much 1/4"
This is considered within normal
tolerances.
First, let's clarify a few things:
Two Types of Slings
Let's make sure we're speaking the same language when it
comes to discussing slings. There are two basic types:
- Seating Slings
- these are the type that you sit or lie on directly [no
cushion is used]. They are typically a firmer
fabric, always a B grade, and come in many colors and
patterns [fabrics].
You can learn about how to remove and replace them by

- Cushion Slings - this
type of sling is used to support the cushions that are used
on the furniture. They are an A grade mesh
fabric, and come in a dozen or so solid colors [fabrics]. Because there
are many different styles, shapes and sizes of cushion
slings, ordering them correctly can be a challenge. Click

define your cushion sling for ordering.
